The part-time Professional Software Engineering program revolves around the phrase “you build it, you run it,” because the strict separation between development and operations no longer exists today: Agile methods, DevOps, microservices, and cloud computing have changed the job description of software developers. Specialized knowledge, skills, and competencies are required to develop applications for the cloud or migrate them there. To truly reap the benefits of the cloud, applications must be programmed in such a way that they can be continuously revised, tested, built, automatically deployed in the cloud, and monitored. As a graduate, you will develop applications using modern methods and tools, especially for modern cloud environments.
